Occupational Therapy

Use of Occupational Therapy within my Coaching Practice

I used to think that I had the best job ever working as an Occupational Therapist. Then I discovered homeopathy. Rather than trying to choose between the two, I have evolved a way of incorporating them both. You will be able to benefit from years of skills and expertise that I gained from being an Occupational Therapist AND thousands of precious insights that I gained from working with thousands of people who were challenged by health issues, sense of self and how to engage with activities during my 20 year service within the NHS.

My experience and skills of being an Occupational Therapist (OT) means that I bring a sound understanding of human development, physiology, pathology and psychology to our working together, This helps me identify physical, cognitive, or environmental and social barriers to your goals and offer practical solutions for performing meaningful daily activities.

I have 25 (5 of which in private practice) years of experience of working as an OT in rehabilitation (musculoskeletal, orthopaedic surgery, neuro with stroke, surgery, including amputation), parkinsons disease, care of the elderly, CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome service, Pain Management Services that included pelvic pain syndrome, musculoskeletal and CRPS (complex regional pain syndrome).

In my private practice as a coach, my expertise has extended to working with neurodivergent clients with issues such as:

  • addressing the childhood trauma

  • executive function challenges and productivity

  • time management

  • work life balance

  • creating supportive routines

  • sensory challenges

  • developing organisational systems in workplace or business and

  • managing stress more effectively

As a Registered Occupational Therapist in the UK I can also support my clients with assessments and written reports as a way to help them assert their rights with their employer work, benefits system of educational institutions.

Please note that I use occupational therapy in conjunction with homeopathy and coaching rather than on its own.
