Loss and Grief
Loss can be experienced in so many ways. We may lose people a beloved one through death, a friend trough misunderstanding, our beloved animal pet. We also experience a sense of loss of our children as they grow up and leave home (empty nest syndrome).
Such loss can feel like a our heart is being ripped apart, like part of us had died.
isarray of emotions such as
SHOCK, DENIAL, ANGER, BARGAINING, DEPRESSION.
These are NORMAL responses and there is no RIGHT or WRONG way in how these are expressed. However, to heal the immense pain.
How long does it take to get over a loss varies from person to person. Some people who have the ‘Metal Element’ predisposition may take longer.
Grief is also very personal. It’s not very neat or linear. It doesn’t follow any timelines or schedules and it can catch us unaware. It can be triggered by sensory trigger such as smell, sound, colour, taste that reminds us of that which we lost. Scenery as such will be a trigger, daily rituals, other people will remind us. . Our grief is also triggered by a sense of emptiness we feel inside.
What is that we grieve?
Understanding what is that the person we lost represented can help us o deeper healing.
