Hormonal Harmony
A Holistic approach to Female Hormonal Health
Female Hormones
Whenever I work with my female clients, hormonal health is something that we tune into and which helps manage a host of physical and emotional changes. Hormones like oestrogen, progesterone, and testosterone regulate many essential functions such as the menstrual cycle, mood, energy levels, and metabolism.
An imbalance can lead to symptoms including irregular periods, mood swings, fatigue, weight changes, and skin problems. It may also affect reproductive health, causing issues like infertility or increased risk of conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or thyroid disorders.
This can have a massive impact on everyday experience of being oneself, relationships, socialising and ability to engage in work related activities as well as income.
Hormones can be balanced
Hormones play a key role on our evolutionary path to self actualisation and its accompanying creative potential and fertility. It is common for this natural process to be disturbed or blocked by The Pill or other contraceptives, sterilisation (hysterectomy) and HRT treatments.
These are used to help manage painful periods, acne, sexually transmitted disease (STD), moods, post natal depression, establish regular periods for successful fertility, managing heavy flows and so much more. Unfortunately they come with many undesired side effects. HOMEOPATHY can help us have a more enjoyable experience of being a woman as all the above issues can be managed with carefully chosen remedy.
Hormones, Activity, Creativity and Productivity
You are likely to be familiar with the impact that hormones have on your mood, energy levels and level of activity, productivity.
Equally, how and what we do has a dramatic impact on our hormonal balance. For busy women this can be a real challenge and can lead to the high and lows of, sense of unpredictability, unreliability and feeling out of control.
Such imbalances (and how to go about them more holistically) can be more helpfully understood with the 5 Element theory. This has had an impactful way to help my clients establish a more sustainable lifestyle as we considered how the high levels of activity, pushing oneself are a result of WOOD element dominance - and where there is a proliferation of growth (symbolised by tree growth) there is a risk of missing out on the fruit, both literally and metaphorically.
Hormones and Nutrition
Add to high levels of activity, disturbed sleep, some coffee and sugar to manage the residual fatigue, a glass of wine perhaps and your hormones will be all over the place.
