Kinesiology
Kinesiology is another wonderful healing modality that I have had the pleasure to learn and now offer to my clients to benefit from.
Kinesiology allows us to communicate directly with the wisdom of the body and person’s higher consciousness. It’s done through simple muscle testing (biofeedback).
Muscle testing as a healing modality was first recognised by Dr Lovett in 1920s, written about in 1949 by Kendall and Kendall and in 1960’s taken to another level by Dr Goodheart who was a chiropractic practitioner. Goodheart helped us understand that muscles link up with different organs in the body via meridian channels and that different organs and muscles benefit from different nutrition (i.e. vitamins, minerals, amino acids). This is very much taken from the Five Element Theory wisdom, often part of Traditional Chinese medicine.
In practice this means that when we work with someone who presents with back pain and his abdominal muscles test weak we are signposted to explore the health of the small intestine that this muscle is linked to. Another person with back pain may have strong abdominal but weak psoas, we would need to balance the kidneys that link to psoas to help the person find the balance and heal.
Essentially, the premises of kinesiology along with other complementary therapies is that we get to enjoy good health when energies are flowing smoothly in our bodies and our minds and that illness arises from the build up of stuck energy (think infection, injury, build up of toxins, unprocessed emotional/spiritual trauma and challenging thoughts).
Kinesiology allows us to work holistically as we simultaneously work on what we refer to as the physical, nutritional, emotional and electrical/energetic sphere. For example:
Structural: as well as muscular and bone health we work with the lymph system; we are able to support the release of old injuries, cranials, TMJ, sphenoid, atlas and axis, hip rotation, isometric corrections, pain, sexual issues, spine/back alignment.
Nutritional/Biochemical: we look at the nutritional balance as we test for any intolerance to food, need for supplements. We can check for any hormonal imbalances, neurotransmitter influencing brain and cognitive function and subsequent actions we take, menstrual cycle, health of the gut, skin.
Emotional and Mental component allow us to explore and release challenging emotions, incongruent belief systems, guilt and shame, self sabotage programmes, heal the inner child, relationship issues with self and others and survival programmes that may be associated to childhood conditioning or trauma.
Electrical/Energetic sphere plays role in identifying sensitivities to environmental factors, neurological disorganisation, retained primal reflexes and helps support sensory balance, improve concentration; it supports the work of chakra and auric fields and we can identify any ancestral trauma and that linked to past lives.
Combining Psychology, CBT, Life Coaching, NLP, acupressure and meridian tracing and remedies we create a powerful and effective approach to healing. One of the main benefits is that you don’t have to re-live the trauma, nor even talk about it if you don’t want to.
Kinesiology treatments are gentle and invasive. One of the main benefits is that you don’t have to re-live the trauma, nor even talk about it if you don’t want to. The person remains fully dressed as gentle pressure is applied to the body. It can be done in person or distantly via a surrogate and as such lends itself well to online sessions or that with the children and babies.
The sessions are goal focused and the process allows one to move to the next level of healthy living and being.
I studied Systematic Kinesiology with TASK and Applied Kinesiology Biochemical Module with John McGuire at the Institute of Kinesiology. I later complimented this with the study of Integrated Healing.
